Scarce #602 “later” Bedrock Stanley Plane, Used

Maker:  Stanley Rule & Level Co, New Britain, CT

A scarce “later” Bedrock series 7” smoother plane by Stanley.  Plane is a Type 6 produced from 1012-1921.  This “later” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the squared off top of the sides of the plane body, a taller front knob and a major innovation in the construction of the frog that is still utilized today by modern day makers of the original Bailey/Stanley type metal planes.  April 1995 and April 1910 patent cast into body behind frog.  Type 6 trademark on iron.  Lever cap reads BED ROCK.  This particular example reflects shows some staining and minor pitting on one side of the body (visible in photos) but overall is in very good condition with original japanning at 90%+.  Original Stanley logo on one side of the tote.  Fully functional – iron needs sharpening/honing.
