Rare Vintage # 607 “early” Bedrock Stanley Plane, Used

Maker:  Stanley Rule & Level Co, New Britain, CT

A rare “early” Bedrock series 22” jointer by Stanley.  Plane is a Type 4 produced between 1908-1910.  The “early” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the rounded top of the sides of the plane body, a smaller front knob and the early type of frog used in these planes.  April 1995 patent embossed into body behind frog. “B” casting mark behind tote. Manufacturer’s imprint on iron consistent for Type 4 planes.  Lever cap reads STANLEY BED ROCK used on Type 4 early Bedrock series.  This particular example reflects minimal wear from original use and overall is in excellent condition with better than 90% of the original Japanning intact.  Fully functional – iron requires sharpening/honing.
