Maker:  L.T. Pope, Boston, MA; circa 1837-1841

A rare antique American screw arm plow plane by L.T. Pope.  Very good condition, all parts including irons are original.  Plane body is beechwood; arms/nuts/ are boxwood.  Some bruising on wedge and some minor chips on screw arms.  Screw arms nuts turn freely and fully secure arms at desired setting.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose of the plane.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  2 stars (rare).
