Maker:  Stanley Rule & Level Co, New Britain, CT

A scarce “early” Bedrock series 14” heavy jack plane by Stanley.  Plane is a Type 4 produced from 1908-1910.  The “early” series of Bedrock planes is characterized by the rounded top of the sides of the plane body, a smaller front knob and the early type of frog used in these planes.  April 1995 patent cast into body behind rear tote.  Manufacturer’s trademark on iron consistent for Type 4/5 planes (1900-1910).  Lever cap is a Stanley BED ROCK used with the Type 4/5 series.
