Maker:  J. Kellogg, Amherst, MA; circa 1835 - 1867

A rare antique screw arm plow plane by American plane maker J. Kellogg.  Excellent condition, all parts including irons are original.  Plane body is beechwood; arms/nuts/ are boxwood.  Screw arms nuts turn freely and fully secure arms at desired setting.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose of the plane.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  2 stars (rare).
