Maker:  W. H. Taber, Lowell, MA; circa 1844-1866

A very rare antique American arm plow plane by W.H. Taber.  Arms are held in desired position with metal thumb screws.  Made of beechwood in very good condition.  All parts including iron are original.  Minor bruising on wedge.  Plane is fully functional and can be used as originally intended (iron requires sharpening/honing).  Makers mark imprint is visible on nose.  Pollak “American Wooden Planes”, 4th edition rarity rating:  3 stars (very rare).
